About Us

Abbey Surfacing, a sole trader, was originally set up in 1982 as a one-man operation with first year sales of £70,000.00. Since then we have expanded our labour force, plant and lorry fleet and our operating base. Our turnover now is excess of £1.5million per year.

We have successfully carried out works as either the main contractor or sub-contractor to most major employers in our region. In order to maintain our "hands-on" day-to-day management we limit our tendering activities to the area within a 70-mile radius of Gloucester.

Our client base extends through local authority highways and schools departments, local NHS Trusts, major and medium sized Contractors, local builders and developers, private companies and, importantly, domestic property owners. Selected members of our labour force are trained to CITB certificate standard for working in local authority highways.
